A CHORALE FOR LATE PROF. AUSTIN CHUKWU
A CHORALE FOR LATE PROF. AUSTIN CHUKWU
I queried the distress call of Udodimma
I queried the wobbling response of Oko-Egwu
I probed the swollen face of our darkling sky
They dazed me with the passage of a rare icon
They demand a chorale for Oka-nkuzi Austin Chukwu
What chorale can recreate this data bank of the humane letter?
Born and bred by royal parents
You were a Nightingale of multiple values
You were the pillar of our literary pilgrimage
You were a ready canopy for the oppressed
You were an elephant of ponderous make
What chorale can recreate you through?
Though my frail fountain fails for words and rhythm
Oka nkuzi Emezue and Akachi Ezeigbo’s will not
Your un-noised exit has opened a book of tears
Ah, a million pullets and I are robbed of a mother hen
Our flowery wings are plucked on the air
How can we another willing wing grow?
Who drives us through the hardware of our choice vocation?
Oh, that death’s cold hands leave you
That you unveil the conceited literary cup
For us to drink and dance like never before
Live on my V.S Naipaul
Live on my great master and mentor!

THE PASSING AWAY OF AN ORATOR, GREAT SCHOLAR AND ACTIVIST
The untimely death of Professor Austin Chukwu is a great loss to the academia and humanity. He was a great teacher, administrator, father and counsellor. He supported the virtues of justice, fairness and collectiveness. This he demonstrated in the various leadership positions he held. As the Dean, faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ebonyi state, Professor Chukwu ran open door policy interacting and engaging with staff of the faculty and beyond irrespective of position and rank. My experienced with him showed that he was not ethnocentric nor a religious bigot because he treated people based on the content of their character. As we bade him farewell, may God grant the family and children the grace to bear this irreparable loss.
Adieu Prof.

The fall of the Great Iroko: Prof. Austin Chukwu
Prof, your sudden passage to the great beyond came as a rude shock to all of us. You were such a charismatic person that every academic was proud to submit to your tutelage.
Your forthrighness and fearlessness is a virtue and legacy you have bequathed to many. Your demise has orphaned a lot of young academic who always crave for your fatherly advise and mentorship.
It is hard for us to say, but on behalf of the Faculty of Humanities Welfare Committee , Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo,, we bid you good bye.

Questions
Who are the Disciples?
Men full of Questions; Men who never know how to eat their own fruits, Men who do not know how to discern from the voice of the wind; Men of smoked screens and woolly eyes and complex existentiality; Men like fish, that live in the ocean of waters and yet seek an ocean: Men who never really question to know who the enemy is but known to question the enemy. Who are we? Are we the Disciples that do not know our enemy and yet question the enemy?
Who is our Enemy?
According to the words of George R.R. Martin; the author of A Song of Ice and Fire, “There is only one enemy – Death, the first and the Last enemy”. Yes, an enemy to the good; enemy to the bad; enemy to failures; enemy to success. Who’s Death? Unclassified; Unwanted and presumed to be dark and darker than dark? Oh! Sorrow has a rhythm - the rhythm of our enemy called Death. Can we conquer the enemy? The fight of faith and fear that enchants our being is a consequence of our enemy. We should know our enemy as the consciousness awakens something within the heart that is beyond knowledge.
What does the bird Say?
God is the Unknowable; unfathomable. Every statement about him sounds like a distorted truth. But the Master must always speak and his words are not meant to be comprehended. We simply need to listen as we listen to the wind in the trees of... VIEW FULL TRIBUTE
